The dialogue between the avant-garde and tradition, the tug-of-war between the familiar and the unknown… All the elements that make Guitarricadelafuente one of the most captivating voices of his generation are present in Spanish Leather, his second album, which both consolidates the style that propelled him into the spotlight and pushes him toward the future.

In Spanish Leather, Álvaro digs deep into the raw, earthy textures of Spanish and Latin American folk, now with a sharper focus and a deliberate tension that unfolds musically, poetically, and stylistically. It’s a personal journey of reinvention, where he explores the interplay of the core elements of Spanish musical heritage and blends them with the essence of contemporary pop and the raw, lived experiences of an ordinary young man. The result is a new narrative of modern folklore.

The album brings together a diverse group of producers—from Carter Lang (SZA, Doja Cat) to pablopablo (C Tangana) and Raül Refree (Rosalía). The project also features Jasper Harris (Jack Harlow, Lil Nas X, Camila Cabello), Brad Oberhofer (The Andy Warhol Diaries, Netflix), and Rodaidh McDonald (The xx, Adele, Sampha). Emerging voices like Barcelona-based duo Ciutat, Tristán, and Teo Planell round out a team that reflects the album’s spirit: deeply rooted with a creative vision set on what lies ahead.
