Jay Som's Belong marks Melina Duterte’s return after a five-year break, channeling her growth as a musician, producer, and performer into an 11-track album that blends power-pop, dreamy ballads, and experimental textures. Drawing on the alt-rock and pop-punk influences of her youth, the album explores themes of identity and belonging, featuring her first-ever guest vocalists—Jimmy Eat World’s Jim Adkins, Hayley Williams, and Mini Trees’ Lexi Vega. In the time since her last release, Duterte has expanded her production work, earning a Grammy and collaborating with artists like Lucy Dacus, Troye Sivan, and beabadoobee, while evolving her sound through a new analog recording setup and a deepened creative confidence.
