5 Must-Hear Vinyl Releases This August 🎶

August is shaping up to be a massive month for new pop music releases – and if you're a fan of collecting vinyl records, you're in for a treat. From genre-bending queer icons to long-awaited returns from critically acclaimed artists, here are five albums we're hyped to spin on the turntable this month.
1. Ethel Cain – Willoughby Tucker, I'll Always Love You
Hot on the heels of her breakout vinyl release Preacher’s Daughter, Ethel Cain returns with her second studio album, Willoughby Tucker, I'll Always Love You. Written as a prequel to her debut, this record continues her cinematic storytelling, diving into the bittersweet saga of her first love.
Two singles have already dropped – Fuck Me Eyes and Nettles – and they’re drenched in the Southern Gothic, synth-laced aesthetic fans adore. Released under her own label, Daughters of Cain, Ethel’s doing things on her own terms – and it’s working. When Preacher’s Daughter was reissued on vinyl, it made her the first publicly trans musician to hit the Top 10 on the Billboard Albums Chart, and also charted across the UK, Australia, and the Netherlands.
Expect this to be one of the most collectible pop vinyl releases of 2025. She's also hitting the road later this year – don’t sleep on this one.
Willoughby Tucker, I'll Always Love You is released on 8th August – pre-order the 2LP + Art Print vinyl now.
2. CMAT – Euro Country
It’s finally CMAT’s moment. The Irish pop-country sensation is back with her second album, Euro Country, and it's already bursting with wit, camp, and country twang. Her single Take A Sexy Picture Of Me has been picking up serious radio play here in Australia, and songs like The Jamie Oliver Petrol Station and Lord, Let That Tesla Crash prove her humour and storytelling are sharper than ever.
A self-declared bisexual icon, CMAT continues to build her status as a queer pop legend in the making. She even dropped a limited-edition T-shirt last week reading “The T in CMAT stands for Trans Rights.” Her Glastonbury 2025 performance was unforgettable – this album feels like the one that’s about to take her global.
If you’re a fan of alt-pop vinyl or queer artists in music, add this one to your crate ASAP.
Euro Country is released on 29th August – pre-order the Exclusive Green, Yellow and Red vinyl now.
3. Sabrina Carpenter – Man’s Best Friend
Controversial cover art aside, Sabrina Carpenter is on a hot streak. Just months after the sugary pop perfection of Short n’ Sweet, she’s back with Man’s Best Friend, a more confident and mature record that sees her refining her voice – both literally and lyrically.
While the lead single Manchild didn’t quite hit for us, we love the artistic risk and pop polish. If we get one more single before the full vinyl release at the end of the month, we might be looking at another pop classic in the making.
Carpenter’s star is only rising, and this is one limited edition vinyl release fans will want in their collection.
Man's Best Friend is released on 29th August. Pre-order the Sea Foam Green vinyl and Opaque Light Blue vinyl now.
4. Blood Orange – Essex Honey
Seven years since his last full-length studio album, Dev Hynes (aka Blood Orange) is back with Essex Honey – an intimate, emotionally raw album rooted in grief, nostalgia, and healing. Influenced by his childhood in Essex and the music that shaped him, this record is deeply personal and rich with mood.
The single The Field, featuring Caroline Polachek, is a standout – melancholic, delicate, and immersive. Expect more collaborations, including Mind Loaded with Lorde, with whom Hynes also worked on her last album Virgin.
This is one for fans of indie pop vinyl, electronic soul, and emotionally driven music.
Essex Honey is released 29th August – pre-order the 2LP Black vinyl now.
5. Alison Goldfrapp – Flux
Alison Goldfrapp is reclaiming her sound. After her somewhat underwhelming first solo album The Love Invention, she returns with Flux, a pulsing, electro-dancefloor reset that feels more in line with what fans of Goldfrapp’s signature synth-pop have been craving.
Released independently under AG Records, this marks a new chapter for Goldfrapp as a solo artist. Early singles suggest a darker, grittier edge – a welcome evolution for those who felt her last outing was a little too polished.
If you're into electro-pop with a nostalgic yet fresh vibe, Flux could be one of this month's biggest surprises.
Flux is released on 15th August – pre-order the Yellow vinyl now.
