British singer-songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor returns with her eighth studio album, Perimenopop, marking her debut on Decca Records. Following 2023's Hana, this project unfolds over twelve tracks and arrives with five singles, including 'Freedom Of The Night', 'Relentless Love', 'Vertigo', 'Taste', and 'Dolce Vita'; the latter dropped just weeks before the full album release, and the production credits read like a who's who of British pop, with contributions from Karma Kid, Richard Jones and David Arnold, among others. The record is playful reconciliation and appeal to transitional self-acceptance; Ellis-Bextor knows exactly where she is and loves it.
