The Hidden Cameras are a Canadian indie pop band formed in 2001 by singer-songwriter Joel Gibb. Known for their blend of melodic pop, orchestral arrangements, and provocative lyrics exploring queer themes, the band gained early recognition for their theatrical live shows featuring go-go dancers, choirs, and string sections. Their debut album 'The Smell of Our Own' (2003) became a cult favourite, followed by critically acclaimed releases like Mississauga Goddam and Awoo. Over the years, The Hidden Cameras have remained a unique voice in indie music, mixing intimacy, activism, and baroque pop sensibilities.
